The era of €100 million+ moves may already be over, if the 2024 summer window is anything to go by, although clubs have continued to spend huge sums on new signings in January

Back in the summer, Southampton announced the additions of Japanese forward Renato Takaoka and Brazilian left back Welington, who both officially arrived in January. They have also added Joachim Kayi Sanda from Valenciennes, while they have offloaded Ronnie Edwards and Ben Brereton Diaz on loan.

Tottenham Hotspur confirmed the signing of South Korean winger Min-hyeok Yang before bringing in goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague for €16.5m amidst an injury crisis in the position.

Brighton & Hove Albion announced the €13m signing of Paraguay central midfielder Diego Gomez from Inter Miami, while Liverpool sold Marcelo Pitaluga to Fluminense.

Ipswich Town signed Ben Godfrey on loan from Atalanta and Jaden Philogene on a permanent deal from Aston Villa.

Bournemouth have been quite busy, snapping up Matai Akinmboni from DC United for €1.5m and young Argentine left-back Julio Soler from Lanus for €8m. They loaned midfielder Philip Billing to Napoli with an option to buy, while Max Aarons was loaned to Valencia.

Wolves added Emmanuel Agbadou from Reims for €20m in an attempt to shore up their leaky defence

High-flying Nottingham Forest brought back Wayne Hennessey to bolster their goalkeeper options, while Aston Villa completed the €25m signing of Borussia Dortmund forward Donyell Malen and the €7m purchase of Andres Garcia from Levante.

However, the Birmingham side lost super sub Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr, with Cristiano Ronaldo's Saudi side shelling out a whopping €77m to sign the Colombian.

Crystal Palace raided the Championship for young talent again, signing Millwall wonderkid Romain Esse for €14.2m.

West Ham have loaned Maxwel Cornet to Genoa, while Newcastle have sold Miguel Almiron back to Atlanta United.

Manchester City splashed over €150m on Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Omar Marmoush, while captain Kyle Walker joined AC Milan on loan. City also signed Jumah Bah from Real Valladolid and loaned him straight out to Lens. They are expected to make a big offer for Juventus full back Andrea Cambiaso
Manchester United are strengthening their squad after Ruben Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag as manager. Patrick Dorgu is being signed from Lecce for €30m plus €5m in add-ons. They are close to signing Paraguayan left back Diego Leon from Cerro Porteno, although he won't arrive until the summer

Meanwhile, United will almost certainly offload Marcus Rashford after the attacker revealed that he was "ready for a new challenge". €95m flop Antony has joined Real Betis on loan.

Arsenal have been struggling for goals and could sign another attacker in January to reignite their title chances, especially after the ACL injury to Gabriel Jesus.

Leaders Liverpool are considering signing a central midfielder to improve their chances of winning the league. Real Madrid, meanwhile, are trying to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
